Shelfield United Kestrels 4 v - 23rd September 2018
4 - 1 Win the second week in a row.
It was a shaky start to the game, the boys in a better shape and was moving the ball nicely but kept giving the ball away. they won the ball back in good position but again sloppy passing keep overturning. the play was not all our way and some clever play from the opposition they went ahead. our boys kept working the ball and just before the half we got a free kick just outside the box, step up the captain Kyan to put it on target and a mistake from there defender meant we went to the break 1 - 1.
at the half we spoke about what we were doing well and what needed to improve, the game got on the way and the boys pushed and with a strong defence we kept winning the ball back and on the attack. We made a few change as the opposition was tiring and making mistakes at the back, it paid off as some clever play and passing led to our second, when Atipa say the gap made a really good pass and Ewan running pass the defenders and lobbing the keeper 2-1 Kestrels. that was it the boys saw their chance to put the game to be when the other team start committing players forward and left gaps behind and we capitalise on their mistake and went 3-1 up with Coby's strike. All units was working as a team and we were defending deep and countering which led to Brandon's goal 4-1.
This win today was a team effort, defenders working well again, the midfield giving cover and being creative in attack and strikers being efficient and creating two of the goals.

Shelfield United Kestrels  v - 7th October 2018
The boys carried on from their 9-2 win last week with a brilliant performance in the cup, they have now set their own benchmark.
They started very strong and was dominating possession, winning the ball back very quickly but in a rush to move forward would hand possession back. The opposition was playing their part by stopping our early advances but on 20 minuets the deadlock was broken and we went a head, not long after we added a second then a third. After a ten minute spell of attack and defending by both teams, the whistle blew for half time 3-0 to Shelfield.
The second half started with a few changes Shelfield looked even stronger, our shape and positional play was very good and the boys started scoring again. We looked very dangerous going forward and solid in defence and before you knew it we were ten nill up, this is where our heads went and we had too many players pushing forward and opened up a gap for the opposition to capitalise, from the resulting corner we lost our clean sheet. The boys carried on to get another goal.
Today we saw Lewis scoring a penalty to get his first of the season, two of our strikers combined total of 7 goals, Brandon getting a brace and Kyan continue to score headers. A very good showing from the Kestrels.
